Lumen Veritatis Academy is proud to announce that Music Lessons are starting on Monday January 9th, 2012 at our Streetsville campus. The lessons are open to Children (age 5 upwards) and Adults during weekdays from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Presently Piano lessons are available in the following packages:
Musical Package “Exploratory Piano Lessons”
- Duration: 5 lessons, 30 min each
- Applies to adults and children
- Approach: expose the individual to light-hearted learning tasks that culminate with learning a song of their choice
- Benefit: the individual gauges whether s/he would like to extend the experience
Cost of the package: $110 (5 half-hour lessons @$22 per lesson)
Musical Package - “The Casual Pianist”
- Duration: 3 months (12 lessons, 30 min each )
- Driven by student motivation – adult, child
- Music theory classes by groups
- Level: casual / relaxed pace
- Options: learn by
- ear using the piano keys or,
- through reading music
- Curriculum will comprise of Benefit: opportunity to graduate to a more formal course of study or, continue pursuing informal instruction
- contemporary songs
- the student’s choice
Cost of the package: $264 (12 half-hour lessons @$22 per lesson)
Musical Package - ”The Piano Soloist”
- Duration: 6 months (24 lessons)
- Focus on structured approach based on formal grading
- Driven by student (adult / child) performance and motivation
- Students will learn to read music
- curriculum will include Benefit: trained to start preparing for the 1st grade examination of the Royal Conservatory of Music
- scales
- sight reading exercises
- rudiments of music theory:
- ear tests
- learning to play pieces primarily by classical composers
Cost of the package: $528 (24 half-hour lessons @$22 per lesson)

The Teacher
Ms. Sunita Valladares, is a Music teacher registered with the Royal Conservatory of Music, RCM. She is also certified by the Trinity College of Music, London, UK.
A teacher with more than 20 years of experience, she has coached students in major musical roles and plays.
Ms. Valladares is presently playing organ at St John of the Cross Church in Mississauga. She also holds a MA in Sociology and a Diploma in Early Childhood Care
